Jackson Bloodline Tour: Metal Master Class

May 27th, 2009

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24th @ 7:00pm

The Jackson Bloodline Tour Metal Master Class with Autumn’s End guitarist and top-level Jackson dude Chris Cannella is in full swing in May 2009, having enjoyed two stellar weeks in April in Florida and New York.

“The tour has been a great success and this is only the beginning,” Cannella said in late April. “Leitz Music in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Encore Music in Port Richey, Fla.; and House of Guitars in Rochester, N.Y., all have amazing staff and were really great. The best part of the whole thing is the attendees—everybody had great questions and really made it fun every night. Such great interaction, and lots of laughs. I really feel connected with so many of these people across the country.”

Jackson is presenting Cannella’s Metal Master Class at music stores nationwide through the end of June 2009. At each clinic, Cannella—Jackson’s product manager/artist relations rep and formidably talented Autumn’s End guitarist, songwriter and vocalist—demonstrates and explains his light-speed guitar techniques using whatever gear is in the store at the time, shares tone secrets and overall guitar setup tips, talks a little music theory and soloing style, and delves into Jackson’s dark yet colorful past.

His piratical look is pure Jackson, but the soft-spoken Cannella is actually a walking encyclopedia of metal in general and Jackson in particular. At his Metal Master Class clinics, the floor is always open to questions and valuable one-on-one interaction with guests.

New Website Goodness!

May 19th, 2009

Well, well! We’re pleased to announce a new website up and running (which you have probably noticed).  There have been some major changes, so let me detail those.  Firstly, to get it out of the way, the sacrifices made were as follows:

THE BAD

1. All store accounts under the old system have been lost.  There was no way to switch them over.  While it may be an inconvenience and loss in efficiency to make a new one, it has been made up for in the ability to have your entire checkout process on ONE page!

2. Temporarily, the actual lesson registration form is down.  I’m having some issues with form posting within the new CMS, but i’ll get those resolved soon.  The rest of it works great, so you can still check out the teacher directory and live schedules… you’ll just have to register in person or via the phone for a few weeks.

That’s it.  Those was the only issues encountered in usability.  Now for the goodies!

THE GOOD

1.  We are able to synchronize our online store with our in-store point of sale system for, which means we’ll be able to have MUCH more product on our website, and you can be assured the stock levels will be correct (to the best of our ability, of course!).

2. There are much improved search and navigation features for our catalog, such as drill-down sorting by features!

3. We’ll be able to show more (as in quantity) detailed views of high-end products.

4. Our slow and clunky news feed has now been replaced with this nice, slick bloggy-style interface, and we hope to have some weekly and monthly features (such as staff album pick of the week, etc.).

5. Now that we have USPS and UPS integrating shipping tables, we have done away with flat shipping prices for orders under $150.  That’s great news for all you “I just want three sets of strings” folks.

Onward and upward!
