Fender tube combos are considered the most treasured guitar amplifiers of all time. Popular models like the Deluxe Reverb and Hot Rod Deluxe are easily as desirable now as when they were first introduced!

Countless guitarists reach for some version of a Fender Deluxe amp when they do a session or a gig, thanks to its grab-and-go 1x12 combo portability, ease of use and great tone. The Deluxe VM amplifier takes the sought-after Deluxe formula into a new era of "Vintage Modified" performance by combining a real tube amp with a complement of essential effects. The 40-watt tube platform provides a foundation of great tone to build on, and the versatile tube preamp offers a wide range of tone and gain settings--from world-standard Blackface Fender clean to aggressive overdrive with post-gain EQ.

An all-new high-quality DSP platform adds reverb, chorus/vibrato, and delay effects with the convenience and "tweakability" of standard stomp boxes, without the need for extra cables or power supplies.

  1. Great Tone, Power and Effects! Review by Canadian Fender Guy

I was debating buying a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe (Bluesman) or the Fender Deluxe VM. I tried both amps out for 3-4 hours each and tired just about every possible setting, and with various effects for the HR. Both are Awesome amps and you can't go wrong with either one of them - both with great tone, a lot of power (I was trying these amps beside a 120 watt 210 digital amp) and at 2-3 on the volume setting of the Fenders, the digital was at about 6-7 - I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't done a side by side comparison.

What sold me on the Deluxe VM was the great tone, the power, great looks and really great effects. They are really easy to use and are set up just like a stomp box with dial in depth, mix, and rate. For my style of play (Blues, 70's Rock and Progressive Rock) and using my Strat and Tele, Fender has done a beautiful job of these effects especially the chorus and delay. The reverb is digital but still sounds great. The HR has a spring reverb so it has a bit more depth at the high settings, but I never set the reverb set that high. Once you've set the effects, they are all controlled for on/off use with a sturdy 4 button footswitch box - so easy to use on the fly. I liked the gain channel a little more than on the HR - it seemed to cover the same amount of distortion as the HR on "more gain". This amp has absolutely no background hiss or buzz.

I could not be happier with this amp! I've had no issues whatsoever. It gives me all of the effects I need, not too heavy to transport, great looks, beautiful clean and gain tone, power and even comes with a cover and the footswitch box! You really have to hear this amp to appreciate how great it is. Hats off to Fender for creating another superb amp at an affordable price! (Posted on 10/21/10)
